NEXT STEP IRREGULARS

Next Step Irregulars are One Small Step's demo teams, models, and playtest teams. Demo teams travel to local game stores and conventions and show other people how to play our games in exchange for goodies. Models earn up to $60 an hour for appearing at our trade shows in costume or posing for game component photos. Playtesters try our stuff out and help us shape how our games will look when published.

One Small Step Demo Teams

One Small Step is always in need of quality demo teams. Demo team members show other players and retail store owners how to play our games, and record the demos they run on special forms. These forms are turned back in to us in exchange for demo bucks, convention badges, and free product.

Each participant completes a short form, and the game store owner or convention officials sign off on the fact that the demonstration took place when and how it was supposed to. Irregulars then send in these complete forms to earn credits towards One Small Step merchandise and other cool stuff. It is the easiest and most fun way to earn free stuff there is!

One Small Step Models

One Small Step regularly uses costumed male and female models to supplement the art in our games. You MUST either be a real hottie, or have some sort of distinctive look, such as big muscles, wild hair, or tattoos. Alternatively, you may be a purveyor of prop/costume-making arts. We will rent/buy armor, weapons, jewelry, bitchin' costumes, etc. If you have it, let us know.

Model/Costumer Process

If you are in Southern California (And what good-looking person isn't?), we will schedule studio time in our San Gabriel Valley site. Driving time pays $12 per hour. Prep and in Camera time pays $60 per hour with a two hour minimum. We normally rent costumes (rather than purchase), but there are exceptions. We will pay an agreed rental price, and return materials in their original condition or cover repair costs. Rentals are usually for a month, but shorter terms are possible if necessary.

How to Apply

Send us an email describing why you are well-suited to be a model, and attach a couple of photos in costume or street clothes. If we have an upcoming product we think you will be well-suited for, we'll contact you to make arrangements.

One Small Step Playtesters

One Small Step is in regular need of quality playtesters. Playtesters download PDF files of our games in development, print them, and play them. But the real work is figuring out all of the things that are confusing, historically inaccurate, unbalanced, etc., and relaying that back to us.

Each participant then plays the game and completes a short form. Playesters then send in these complete forms to help us make changes and corrections to improve our products. Your name will appear in the credits section of the game. Participants who make substantial contributions will be eligible for free copies of the product.

This is an important job with substantive responsibility. We can be hardnoses. We need the feedback to be thorough, well-considered, prompt, and regular. It's a fun job, but it's not all fun. But if you want to shape the future, sign up, below.
